This page describes what information is collected when you visit ferncap.com and how it is used.
Site analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, a measurement service provided by Google, to understand how the site is used — which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, the approximate (city-level) location of visits, and the type of device and browser used. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish one visitor from another. The reports Fern Capital receives are aggregated and do not identify you by name, email address, or other personal details. Information collected through Google Analytics is processed by Google as described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Forms on this site
The inquiry form on the contact section asks for your name, work email address, firm, what the enquiry is about, and an optional message. The newsletter sign-up asks for an email address only. What you enter is used to reply to you, to send the newsletter if you asked for it, and to keep an ordinary record of the enquiry. It is never sold, rented, or used for advertising.
Submissions are delivered to Loops, the email service Fern Capital uses to send mail and hold its contact list. Loops processes the information on Fern Capital's instructions. The form itself is handled by a small program running on Cloudflare, which passes the submission straight to Loops and stores nothing of its own.
The newsletter
The newsletter is opt-in: it only goes to people who asked for it. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, one click leaves the list for good, and you can also ask to be removed by writing to [email protected]. Fern Capital can see whether an issue was delivered and opened; that measurement is used to judge whether the writing is worth continuing, nothing else.
What this site does not do
Fern Capital does not sell visitor information, does not run advertising on this site, and does not use analytics data for any purpose other than understanding how the site is used.
Correspondence
If you write to [email protected] or call, your correspondence is kept as an ordinary business record and used only to respond to you and conduct the matter it concerns.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site remains fully usable either way.
